After graduation, I went to Joseph School of Hair Design in Bismarck, ND.  For awhile I worked in McIntosh, but at $2.00 a hair set, I headed back to Bismarck and moved into retail where I did very well.

In Bismarck I worked for Russ Dieter in the Ben Franklin.  After six months I was trusted and had proved my loyalty enough to be in charge of locking up at night.  Russ took some of us employees on buying trips and shows to such places as Los Vegas, New Orleans and Chicago.  It was a hoot to run into the owners of Ben Franklin from Lemmon.

I worked for ten years for Ben Franklin and by then I was married to my second husband, Karl Knippling.  We have been married now for twenty-seven years and have one daughter together who is twenty-five and lives in Big Sky, Montana.

I also have two sons, Larry and Dustin, with my first husband, Larry Dalzell.

Karl and I moved to Sioux Falls so Karl could go to school and has received his RN degree.  Karl now works for the Veterans Administration.

I have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and am on disability.  I am lucky though as I can still drive, dance and play cards, the things I really enjoy doing.  I am thinking that I should take a computer class.

I also have three really lovely grandchildren.
