I am currently living in North Central Oregon among rolling hills filled with wheat fields.  My husband, Dennis Bruneau, and I both work for a small rural health clinic here in Condon.  I am the office manager and he is one of two Physician Assistants providing health care.  We have been here since 1980 and never imagined when coming here we would be here this long.

We have no children so our time is spent putting in many hours in keeping the clinic operating and with Dennis on-call every other weekend, this keeps us close to home.  In my spare time I enjoy quilting and creating other needlework projects.  I am also involved in many local organizations and have been talked into keeping books for several of them.  We strongly support local art programs for adults and especially being highly involved in bringing all types of art projects to the school.  There are no funds for art teachers in the school budget, so we do all we can to expose them to as much as possible.  We also have a large yard, so in the spring, summer and fall, I spend many hours outdoors keeping things growing.

We do a lot of traveling and spend time in Lemmon as my mom is still there and so are 2 of my brothers with their families.   Dennis is a golfer and belongs to several groups that allow us to travel all over the world and golf.  I don’t golf so when he does, I enjoy the surroundings and friendships we have made.

Prior to coming to Condon, we spent 4 years in Seattle .  While in Washington we spent many hours enjoying the outdoors while skiing and backpacking.  Dennis was an instructor at the University of Washington in the MEDEX Northwest  PA Program.  I also worked for the same program as an administrative assistant.

Dennis is still on staff, so every year the MEDEX program sends out 2 students to spend time with him learning about rural medicine.  This is a good experience for him as it keeps him up to date and is very challenging.

Before moving to Seattle , we spent 2 ½ years in Alaska . This was a true experience as we had to learn how to adapt to living with no running water and appreciated many things that most people take for granted.  Dennis was the sole provider for several Indian villages while working for NHSC.  I worked keeping books for a local airline company that transported mail and passengers to rural villages.

After completing a year course at Aberdeen School of Commerce upon graduation from LHS, I worked for 3 years in Lemmon at the First National Bank.  This allowed me to live at home and save my money for all of my future endeavors.  This is were I met Dennis and the rest is history.
