When I got home today (3-25)
there was a letter in the mail from John. In his own handwriting he
sent this bio along with some comments about me not needing a picture of
an old guy with gray hair. I guess I will have to go visit John and
take my camera along. I have to add that it has been a long, long
time since I have received a hand written letter, we are so used to email
or even typed and printed letters. I really enjoyed getting the
letter and my thanks goes out to John for sitting down and writing this
out. Now for that picture! After high school, I went to one semester at Jamestown College. Then came back to the farm and have been here ever since. I am raising cattle and sheep. Don't do any farming, just the livestock and hay. I am in my thirty-seventh year as a 4-H leader. Have been president and vice president of the County Fair Board and and currently the president of the 4-H Leaders Council |
I have also been president and
vice-president of the South Dakota Rambouillet Sheep Breeders. I was
a director of the North Dakota Lamb and Wool Producers. I also have
been working at Lemmon Livestock (sale barn) since the 1980's.
I traveled across the country in the 1980's and 1990's showing my sheep at County and State Fairs. I also sheared sheep for twenty some years. I have been working for Adams County Soil Conservation District in April and May of each year since 2001. In 2000 I started a wool warehouse and am a collection point for Center of the Nation Wool based out of Belle Fourche, South Dakota. I also enjoy collecting antiques and working the the 4-Hers. In my spare time I like to sit down and do crossword puzzles and watch movies. I also enjoy spending time with my nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. I am very happily single. |
