(pic is coming)

Margie and I were always close because we both lived in town.  Her mother and my mother were sisters so we spent considerable time at her house.  The best memory I have of Margie is when we were about five.  Whenever we traveled to my grandparents house in Missoula, MT, my mother thought we needed to take ex-lax (the chocolate bar type) along. Apparently back then they thought road trips did something terrible to your system!  When we got back and went to the Nelson’s, Margie and I were playing in the car.  The parents came out, saw the wrapper and immediately took us to the hospital to have our stomachs pumped.  They tied us down with sheets.  Margie thought it was great fun!  I still have claustrophobia from it!!  The stomach pumping revealed nothing, because later they found the chocolate under the seat.  Apparently they didn’t realize it would just come out in the end!!  Margie was so much fun, always laughing and happy, but she had years of dealing with heart disease.  She had numerous surgeries, but God needed a smiling and happy-go-lucky angel.  I miss her . . .

Marjorie Ellen (Nelson) Lorenz

September 16, 1952-April 13, 2003

Marge Nelson was born and raised in Lemmon.  Most of us went to elementary and high school with her until about the 10th grade.  At that time she moved to Hettinger, ND before returning to Lemmon where she married Richard Lorenz on May 16, 1970.  They moved to Onida, SD for three years, where son, Rikky Jon was born in 1971.  They moved back to Lemmon for three years, and then in 1976 they moved to Dickinson, ND, where son Brian Keith was born in 1977.  The family moved to Bismarck in 1986.

Marjorie was better known to family and friends as Marge.  She will be most remembered for her amazing sense of humor and quick wit.  She felt blessed to be a stay-at-home mother for most of her children’s lives.  She ran a newspaper distribution business for more than ten years and was the receptionist for the family business.  She devoted much of her time to her church.  She had a great appreciation for all music and loved to dance.  She always lived live to the fullest and always had a beautiful smile gracing her face.  Marge always enjoyed coming back for the Boss Cowman reunions.

Marge’s husband Richard has recently remarried and lives in Bismarck.  Rikky and his wife, Laura, live in Bismarck and Brian lives in New York City, NY.

. . And that is why in all this world, there could not be another

Who could fulfill God’s purpose, as completely as a Mother!

Does anyone remember Margie not smiling!!??  As with so many, I wish I had known her after high school. I am sure we missed out on a special lady. ~ Jean Butler
