Since Jeanette has been harassing me to do this and has threatened to add more to my fairy tale story that she wrote about me, I figured I'd better jump in here and tell my own story.  although the part abut being a cowgirl  is true, always has been, always will be.  And I have to admit that I've been bucked off a time or two and had to walk home probably turning the air blue.

David and I were married in 1975 and have always been in the ranching business.  We have a cattle ranch north of Meadow, SD.  David is a truck driver and owns his own truck.  When he goes out on the road I stay home and keep the ranch going.

We do not have kids but we do have four border collie dogs that act like kids sometimes.  They do earn the right to be a little spoiled because they are workers and help us quite a lot when we work cattle.e.

I still have my horses and I still ride a lot.  In the spring and fall I'm kept real busy day working for area ranches.  In doing so, I have met some great people and have been able to ride in some of the prettiest country in the Dakotas and then get paid for it.  I have also been on roundups in Arizona and Wyoming.

We have taken vacations on horseback - In '76 we rode across country from our place to Deadwood for the Days of "76.  Had so much fun the first time, we got together for a ten year reunion  and did it again in '86.  We didn't have pick-ups campers or trailers following along, we did it with pack horses and only what we could carry with us.  Now, we are not so energetic and haul the horses to a campsite and ride there.

All in all I've had a good life so far with many fun adventures with living and doing what I love to do.  I've had a couple of serious health set-backs but have been lucky and managed to come out on top of it.  For that I am a happy camper!
