Hi, after high school I got married and at first lived on a ranch near Lemmon.  I was married for a long time and have been divorced for the last nine years.  I have one son, Ryan, who is married and works for PUC in Pierre.  My daughter, Amanda, lives in Spearfish and works for a dentist.

I have lived all over the place and a few years ago was living in Philip SD.  While there I decided to finish my teaching degree and for three years I drove back and forth from Philip to Spearfish and graduated in December of 1998.  I taught for two years at a rural school in Haakon County, thirty-four miles north of Philip.

I then moved to Pierre and taught at the Pierre Indian Learning Center for three years.  I quit PILC to move to New Zealand.  Spent a month there and came back to think about it.  Decided that I didn't want to live there and needed a job here and somehow I ended up working for DOE.

I love to travel and while working for DOE I spent a lot of my time on the roads of SD visiting schools and telling Superintendents what they need to do.  I have to say, that is one heck of a lot of fun!  I tell them that I prepared for this job in HS when I spent most of my senior year in Mr. Z's office!

My job also offered the opportunity to travel around the country and just recently I got to spend a week in Nashville and another in New Orleans.    I have also gone to England, China and Mexico on vacations.  Would love to go to Ireland and Italy, so if you plan on going and would like company, give me a call.

In my life I have raised horses, spent some time fishing and camping, and did some cowboy poetry for awhile.  My sense of humor has gotten me through a lot in my life....most recently starting a new job, moving and selling a house.

In September of 2008 I sold my house in Pierre and am now living in Rapid City.  I accepted a job teaching in a one room school east and south of Rapid.  I have had a lot of wonderful adventures teaching in a school where I have a lot of flexibility and great kids, parents and a supportive community.  I have killed rattlesnakes, met people from all over the country, become good friends with Ellsworth Air Force Base and found a sharptail grouse lek!  I have also had the opportunity to spend time with old friends and some of my awesome cousins!   The Black Hills offers great days of wandering and exploring and as soon as it quits raining, I am going fishing!

New pics coming soon
