In the almost 38 years since we graduated Larry and I have 4 children and 7 grandchildren.  Two of our boys are here on the ranch and another in Bison.  Our daughter is in Milbank, SD so we are blessed to have everyone close to us.
All 4 of our kids have college degrees, Travis in Elementary Ed, Shannon in Diesel Tech - interesting enough Ron Meidinger was one of Shannon's instructors at Lake Area Vo-Tech!   Chris has a BS in Ag-Business and our daughter Shiloh is an Radiological Technician at the Milbank Hospital.

Larry and the boys have expanded the ranching operation and agriculture is a difficult life that doesn't seem to have a brighter future on the horizon but not easy to walk away from either.  So we will do the best we can.

I was a stay at home mom for 25 years and then began a career in insurance and investments.  I worked in the NW part of SD for 7 years then commuted from Las Vegas for 2 1/2 years.  I was then offered a position in a bank in Rapid City so commuted from there to the ranch.  For the last couple of years I have been a Principal for a national broker/dealer and have traveled all over the US to train representatives for an insurance company in Securities.

One of the highlights of my career was being asked to deliver the graduation address for Western Dakota Tech in Rapid City.

During my stint in Las Vegas I volunteered to do prison ministry which was probably the most amazing experience I could ever have.  Really made me feel lucky to have grown up in the safety and somewhat idyllic world of Lemmon SD in the 50s and 60s compared to what I heard coming from the prisoners regarding their childhoods.

I am looking forward to going to the grandkids ballgames and school events as I don't see us retiring and moving or going South for the winters.  We would like to travel for a week or two at a time and attend Shriner conferences and truly love going to Muscle Car rally's with our 69 GTO so hopefully that will be in our not too far future.

My Dad passed away in 1987 and Mom is 93 and has been in the Nursing Home since Nov of 2003.  Her health is excellent but she has Dementia and cannot live alone. I think Jeanette's idea for us all to go together and buy a Nursing Home facility is great!  You can't believe how many parents are there of those we were in High School with.  Looking down the road 30 years that will be us-but one thing's for sure we will have a great time together!!!

 Thanks Nette!
